DEF: * Articulation is a process that allows students to move from a current or completed higher education qualification to an ICMS programme in accordance with the appropriate articulation agreement. As part of their commitment to innovation, which was approved and signed on 8 July 2013 by the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (FHWS) and the Bavarian Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts in order to ensure and improve the quality and performance of universities in Bavaria, the President of the FHWS, Professor Robert Grebner, and the Bavarian Minister of Education, Dr. Ludwig Spaenle signed on the 19th. March 2014, another goal agreement, which is in effect until 2018.In 2012, FHWS set itself the goal of creating a new vision statement, defining additional elements that distinguish FHWS from other universities, and setting goals for our improvement and development. We are committed to achieving our new goals, which set the benchmark against which the university`s performance can be measured. FhWS` vision means ”networking.” We strive to build and maintain a strong network of contacts that allow students to share information and experiences with other students, as well as connect with professional contacts at home and abroad. To advance our vision, we decided to focus on internationalization and engage in research with technology transfer. Our innovative approach to achieving these goals will be our most important differentiating factor among Bavarian universities and will make Bavaria more attractive to students from all over the world. In order to help FHWS achieve our goals, the Bavarian State Government provides funds of €281,400 per year over a period of 5 years. According to a forecast by the Standing Committee of Federal Ministers of Education in 2012, the number of first-year students is expected to increase further in the coming years. For this reason, the target agreement also contains commitments from the federal government and the FHWS to increase registration capacity.

Specifically, the Bavarian state government is providing a total of €45 million in funding until 2018 to ensure that FHWS can provide sufficient registration capacity. Additional funding will be made available to expand fhWS classrooms to reflect the expected increase in student numbers. In return, FHWS agreed to admit 1,895 first-year students in 2014. Starting in 2015, we will welcome a similar number of first-year students each year, in line with our increased enrollment capacity.
